About Our Family

We're a dynamic, active household of five with three school-age children and a lively rhythm built around sports, school, and family time. Both parents work demanding, full-time careers in the medical field, and our days are structured but fast-moving. From the moment school lets out, the afternoon shifts into high gear: snacks, homework, uniforms, and out the door to practice, often in three different directions.

We love being present as a family, sharing meals together, and staying active. Our kids are in a full-season soccer program with practices multiple days a week, strength training, and weekend travel events. Structure matters to us, and we've worked hard to build systems in our home, though we need someone to help maintain and evolve them consistently.

We are fortunate to have a wonderful grandmother living in the home who helps out when she is not traveling as she lives a full life, and we are looking for someone who will naturally cultivate a warm, easy, and supportive relationship with her. Rounding out the household are a senior Labrador mix, a cat, and some fish who keep things lively.

We're an analog family at heart. No TV on weeknights, limited screen time, and a strong value placed on being present, engaged, and grounded. We're looking for someone who shares, or can genuinely respect, those values and will reinforce them naturally with the kids.

We are looking to bring someone into our home who understands what it means to be a professional in a private household setting — someone who shows up, understands healthy boundaries, sees what needs to be done, and does it without being asked.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You're the kind of person who walks into a room, reads what needs to happen, and gets it done without waiting to be told twice. You're warm and engaging with kids but bring a natural authority that earns their respect. You know how to have fun, go on a hike, kick a ball around, or make dinner an event, and you also know how to hold the line when needed. You don't use shortcuts when it comes to values, language, or behavior, and you'd never look the other way when a child needs a gentle but firm redirect.

The ideal candidate is self-directed and proactive. You notice when the pantry needs a reset before anyone asks. You see that the dog hasn't been out and you handle it. You communicate consistently, ask good questions, and adapt when plans shift because in this house, they sometimes do.

You'll partner closely with an active, caring grandmother who lives in the home and is highly present when she's there. Anticipating her preferences and coordinating gracefully with her as a key member of this multigenerational household is a vital part of the role. You're someone who brings steadiness to a household that already has a lot of love and energy, and helps the whole family breathe a little easier. You take ownership, hit the ground running, and create the kind of calm, organized environment that allows the family to focus on what matters most: spending quality time together.
