Your Role:
As a Fitness Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of our Wellness center, helping members reach their wellness goals in a safe and supportive environment. You’ll assist with orientations, maintain records, support cleanliness and organization, and help create a positive member experience.
Schedule:
- 1-2 morning/daytime hours
- 1–2 evenings per week (3:00 PM–7:00 PM)
- Saturdays as needed (6:45 AM–3:00 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist members; provide tours of the facility.
- Guide new members through individualized exercise plans and discuss fitness goals and any necessary precautions.
- Demonstrate proper use of fitness equipment.
- Maintain member records and input data into MySeniorCenter.
- Conduct follow-up with new or inactive members.
- Support cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
- Assist with volunteer and intern onboarding and mentorship.
- Assist with Zoom operation for virtual fitness programming as needed.
- Attend team and organizational meetings.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Fitness & Wellness Director or Manager.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required
- Experience in fitness, wellness, or health-related field
- Experience working with older adults and community-based services a plus
- CPR, AED, and First Aid certified (or ability to obtain and maintain)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with data entry
- Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills
- Able to handle confidential information appropriately
- Valid driver’s license required
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and moving fitness equipment as needed.
- Able to stand or sit for extended periods.
- Ability to demonstrate and assist members with exercises.
- Assist with room setup and cleanup before and after classes as needed, including moving chairs and cleaning equipment.
- Must be punctual, dependable, and reliable.
