About Our Family

We're a friendly, busy family in Belmont, MA with a young daughter in daycare, two beloved senior dogs, and two careers that keep us on our toes. Our home is large and still finding its rhythm. We moved in a couple of years ago and have been running at full speed ever since, which means some corners of the house are still waiting to be fully settled and organized.

Like many busy families, the pace of everyday life can quickly leave behind toys, laundry, paperwork, and unfinished projects. By the end of the day, the house often reflects the activity of a full and busy family. Helping bridge the gap between the energy of daily life and the calm of a well-organized home is exactly where we need support.

We're looking for a Household Manager & Family Assistant who can help bring order, consistency, and follow-through to our home. A major component of the role will involve completing the remaining unpacking and organization work from our move, creating sustainable household systems, and maintaining those systems over time. Laundry management, household resets, and general organization will be core responsibilities.

In addition, this role will provide support with childcare logistics, including school pickup one to two days per week, occasional backup childcare, and flexibility to assist with overnight childcare and pet care when both parents are traveling.

We are looking for someone who enjoys creating structure, maintaining organization, and bringing a sense of calm to a busy family environment. This is an opportunity to become a trusted partner and valued presence in our home, helping create the consistency and support that allows our family to thrive. As the relationship develops and household needs evolve, there is potential for the role to grow over time.

Who You Are

You are warm, kind, positive, and naturally easygoing. Your presence helps create a sense of calm, and you enjoy being part of a family environment while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. Friendly and approachable, you build trust easily with both adults and children.

You have strong emotional intelligence and are an excellent "temperature taker." You quickly pick up on the rhythms, personalities, and needs of a household and adjust your approach accordingly. You know when to engage, when to step back, and how to provide support in a way that feels natural and helpful.

You genuinely enjoy children and animals. You build rapport easily with kids, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and at ease. You are equally comfortable around dogs and would enjoy being part of a home with two beloved senior pets.

Organization is one of your greatest strengths. You enjoy creating systems, maintaining order, and bringing structure to busy environments. You are proactive and self-directed, noticing what needs attention and taking initiative without needing constant direction. You take pride in staying one step ahead and helping things run smoothly behind the scenes.

You are flexible and adaptable. Family life is dynamic, and you are comfortable adjusting as schedules, priorities, and needs evolve. Rather than becoming flustered by change, you remain steady, solution-oriented, and focused on finding ways to help.

Most importantly, you are reliable, trustworthy, and committed. We are looking for someone who values consistency, takes ownership of their work, and is interested in building a long-term relationship with our family. This role is best suited for someone who is looking for longevity and the opportunity to become a trusted partner over time.

Cantonese language ability is a meaningful bonus and would help support communication with extended family.
