FACILITY MONITOR – PART -TIME
Job Description
The City of Bowie is seeking a dedicated Building Monitor to join our team and ensure the safety and smooth operation of our facility. This position provides receptionist services and monitoring of the Bowie Senior Center activities during evening hours. The incumbent will oversee the building and assist visitors as needed. The building monitor is the go-to person in case of any problems or emergencies. The monitor may be assigned to other duties as needed.
Essential Job Functions:
- Greet residents arriving for meetings
- Check in visitors, ensuring they are authorized to be on the premises
- Assist visitors, tenants, or employees with inquiries and provide information about the building's facilities and policies
- Regularly patrol the interior and exterior premises to ensure the security of the building
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems for any unusual activities or security breaches
- Set up rooms (lift and set up tables and chairs) for meetings/events
- Prepare reports and submit repair requests as needed
- Secure the building at closing
- Handle complaints or issues in a professional and courteous manner
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work well with permit holders
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Able to obtain first aid/CPR/AED certification within 3 months of hire
- Shift work: evenings required, possible weekends
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Salary: $17.98 Hourly
