High-Impact Tutor (In-Person) – New Mexico Schools


Make a Meaningful Difference in Student Achievement


Framework Development Group is seeking passionate, student-centered tutors to provide high-impact academic tutoring services to K-12 students throughout New Mexico during the 2026-2027 school year. This role is ideal for educators, teacher candidates, retired teachers, instructional professionals, and individuals with strong instructional experience who are committed to accelerating student learning and helping students achieve grade-level success.


Our tutoring program is grounded in research-based, high-impact tutoring practices and provides students with targeted instruction in mathematics and/or English Language Arts through consistent, relationship-driven support.


Position Overview


Tutors will provide in-person instruction to small groups of students (no more than four students per group) using structured, standards-aligned curriculum and lesson plans. Tutors will work with the same students throughout the program, building strong relationships while using student assessment data to drive instruction and support academic growth.


Tutoring sessions occur during the regular school day and are designed to complement classroom instruction while addressing unfinished learning and strengthening foundational skills.


Responsibilities


  • Deliver engaging, high-impact tutoring sessions in mathematics and/or English Language Arts.
  • Provide a minimum of two tutoring sessions per week per student group, totaling at least 90 minutes of instruction weekly.
  • Maintain consistent relationships with assigned students throughout the program.
  • Implement provided lesson plans aligned to New Mexico academic standards and district instructional priorities.
  • Use diagnostic and progress-monitoring data to inform instruction and support student growth.
  • Deliver explicit instruction, guided practice, opportunities for student response, and checks for understanding during every session.
  • Provide immediate, specific feedback and corrective instruction to support skill mastery.
  • Facilitate active student engagement through discussion, practice, and application of skills.
  • Support diverse learners using culturally and linguistically responsive instructional practices.
  • Collaborate with program staff, instructional coaches, and school personnel.
  • Participate in ongoing coaching, observations, and professional development activities.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and session documentation.
  • Follow all student safety, confidentiality, and district policies.

Required Qualifications


Candidates must meet at least one of the following qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; OR
  • Current enrollment in a teacher preparation program; OR
  • Demonstrated experience providing instructional support, tutoring, or academic intervention.

Additionally, candidates must:


  • Demonstrate knowledge of literacy and/or mathematics instruction.
  • Be committed to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse learners.
  • Successfully complete required pre-service training.
  • Pass all required background checks and district clearance requirements before working with students.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be reliable, professional, and committed to consistent student attendance and engagement.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Current or former certified teacher.
  • Experience working with intervention programs, MTSS/MLSS frameworks, or small-group instruction.
  • Experience supporting multilingual learners and students with diverse learning needs.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish or other languages commonly spoken in New Mexico communities.
  • Experience using student assessment data to drive instructional decisions.
