Position Summary


Dana-co LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Part-Time Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and finance team. This role will assist with accounts payable processing, vendor maintenance, reconciliations, recordkeeping, and general accounting support across multiple business entities.




The ideal candidate is highly organized, accurate, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. This position offers valuable exposure to a variety of accounting functions and may provide opportunities for expanded responsibilities and future full-time consideration based on performance and business needs.





Please note: This is an on-site position based in New York City. Candidates must currently reside within the New York metropolitan area and be able to commute to our Midtown Manhattan office on a regular basis. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.




Key Responsibilities



  • Review and process invoices and payment requests for accuracy and completeness

  • Enter invoices into the accounting system and route for appropriate approvals

  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies

  • Assist with payment processing and maintain accurate financial records

  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues in a professional and timely manner

  • Support month-end closing activities and year-end audit preparation

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical filing systems

  • Assist with data entry, reporting, and other accounting-related administrative tasks

  • Provide general support to the Controller and Accounting team as needed





Qualifications



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

  • 1–2 years of accounts payable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

  • Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • Reliable, professional, and able to work independently





Work Environment


This position is based in our Midtown Manhattan office and requires regular on-site attendance. The schedule is approximately 24 hours per week during standard business hours.
