Job Overview


Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. The Physical Therapist position provides evaluation and therapy services, including direct patient care, patient/family education and transition of care, in an efficient, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner upon licensed independent practitioner referral.


 


We have an opportunity for a Part Time Physical Therapist to join our Rehab team. This is a  exempt and benefits eligible position.  Compensation is determined based on years of experience and departmental equity.


 


 


 


Responsibilities


The ideal candidate for this role is a well-rounded pediatric physical therapist who enjoys working with both orthopedic and developmental populations in a collaborative, specialty care environment. You\u2019ll be most successful in this role if you bring the following:



  • Pediatric orthopedic expertiseYou have experience managing post-operative pediatric patients, including cases such as ACL reconstruction, periacetabular osteotomy (PAO), tibial derotational osteotomy, and other complex lower extremity surgeries.

  • Outpatient pediatric experienceYou are comfortable practicing in an outpatient setting and have worked with children in a clinical and play-based (not solely school-based) environment.

  • Versatility across orthopedic and developmental careYou enjoy treating a diverse caseload\u2014ranging from post-surgical rehab to children with gait abnormalities, toe walking, hip dysplasia, back pain, and motor delays.

  • Experience with mobility equipment and assistive technologyYou have evaluated or are eager to evaluate pediatric patients for wheelchairs, gait trainers, standers, strollers, and other adaptive equipment.

  • Collaboration with DME vendorsYou understand how to partner with equipment vendors to ensure appropriate selection, justification, and procurement of mobility devices.

  • Integration of prosthetics and orthoticsYou are comfortable working alongside prosthetists and orthotists and incorporating bracing or prosthetic considerations into your treatment plans.

  • Team-oriented mindsetYou value interdisciplinary care and actively collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, therapists, and other providers to achieve the best outcomes.

  • Pediatric-focused clinical reasoningYou can adapt orthopedic rehabilitation principles to meet the unique needs of growing children and adolescents.

  • Family-centered approachYou engage patients and caregivers effectively, using developmentally appropriate strategies to support progress and carryover outside the clinic.

  • Confidence managing a complex caseloadYou are an independent clinician who can balance a varied caseload and thrives in a specialty pediatric orthopedic setting.

Qualifications


Required



  • Licensed in WA

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)


Preferred



  • 1 year experience in Physical Therapy
