Obtains standard and special procedure EEG recordings and monitors additional physiological phenomena using appropriate techniques and instrumentation under the indirect technical supervision of the Chief Technologist.I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Provide a safe recording environment.
• Maintain BLS/CPR certification.
• Follow infection control and HLD policies.
• Ensure equipment and audio/video systems are functioning properly.
2. Perform patient assessments.
• Gather relevant clinical information.
• Document seizure events and patient condition changes.
3. Prepare patient data sheets.
• Record demographics, medications, and baseline ICU monitoring values.
4. Apply electrodes using appropriate methods.
• Use full or modified 10–20 system.
• Assess skin integrity and secure headbox.
5. Obtain baseline cEEG recordings.
• Verify electrode integrity and select appropriate recording parameters.
All responsibilities are essential job functions.
II. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education
Required:
1. High School Diploma
2. Graduation from an EEG training program or Associate’s degree program
3. Current CPR certification
Preferred:
4. ABRET Certification (R.EEGT./CLMT) or eligibility
Experience/Skills
Required:
1. 2–3 years of experience in neurodiagnostics
2. At least 1 year of ICU/cEEG monitoring experience
3. Above-average computer skills preferred
