About Our Family

We are a busy, warm, and laid-back household of four, with two working parents and two boys at very different life stages. One of our boys is school-aged and independent; the other is a busy toddler full of energy and personality. Their beloved grandmother also plays an important role in our daily life, and our home is always evolving to support everyone in it. We are currently living in a two-bedroom apartment we have called home for many years while we wait for our new build to be finished, hopefully before the holiday season. Grandma will live with us in the new home.

Both parents work demanding schedules in the medical field, often with opposite shifts and long hours. The result is a home that runs best on strong systems and a trusted person who knows what needs doing and simply does it. We're not hovering, we're not micromanaging, and we're not looking for perfection. We're looking for calm, consistent support from someone who takes pride in keeping a household running smoothly behind the scenes.

We're a casual household. Come in comfortable clothes, get the work done, and feel at home doing it. We value kindness above all else, and want someone who genuinely enjoys contributing to a family's quality of life. We're relocating to a new build later this year, and we see this as an exciting opportunity to build new systems and routines from scratch alongside the right person.

We have two senior cats who are beloved members of the family and require some daily attention and occasional medical care coordination.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

You are someone who naturally brings order, care, and consistency to the spaces and people around you. You take pride in being the person who notices what needs to happen, steps in without hesitation, and helps a busy household feel more manageable. You are comfortable working independently, building trust over time, and becoming a dependable extension of the family.

The ideal candidate is:

  • Proactive and takes ownership. You don't wait for a list of tasks to get started. You notice when a closet needs reorganizing, when laundry needs attention, or when a household system could work better, and you take initiative to make it happen.
  • Independent and self-directed. You are confident managing your time, prioritizing what matters most, and creating a productive day without needing constant direction. You appreciate having the trust and autonomy to do your work well.
  • Warm, approachable, and relationship-oriented. You bring kindness and positivity into the home and enjoy building genuine relationships with the family. You are comfortable around children and animals and understand that being a trusted presence matters just as much as completing the practical tasks of the role.
  • Adaptable and flexible. You understand that every week may look a little different in a busy household, and you are comfortable adjusting priorities as needs change while maintaining a calm, steady presence.
  • Reliable and grounded. You are humble, dependable, and someone the family can count on. Whether you are working alongside family members or quietly handling responsibilities behind the scenes, you bring the same level of care, attention, and follow-through to everything you do.
