Job Description

Overview


The faculty will be responsible for educational leadership and student instruction on a part-time basis in biology courses.


Qualifications


EDUCATION



  • Bachelor's Degree in Anatomy & Physiology or closely related discipline. Required

  • Master's Degree in Anatomy & Physiology or closely related discipline. Preferred

  • Coursework in or experience using computers in instruction. Preferred


EXPERIENCE



  • Teaching Anatomy & Physiology at the secondary or college level for at least two semesters, both lecture and laboratory. Preferred


ABILITIES AND SKILLS



  • Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures. Required

  • Interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with students, staff, and the public. Required

  • Sensitivity to the expectations of students, faculty, and staff. Required

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in written form. Required

  • Developed organizational skills. Required

  • Interdisciplinary approach to education. Required

  • Demonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. Required


 


Responsibilities



  • Instruct and evaluate students in biology courses which may include; Anatomy and Physiology (lecture or laboratory or both).

  • Maintain accurate written records of student performance.

  • Take attendance and maintain records of student attendance.

  • Participate in School assessment process.

  • Maintain office hours according to the standardized part-time teaching agreement.


Physical Standards and Special Job Features


Exposure to various chemicals and preservatives.


Pay Transparency

Commensurate with credentials submitted as applied to the College\u2019s Faculty Salary System. As a point of reference, the salary range for new full-time faculty hired in various disciplines throughout the College for the 2023/24 academic year is $0 \u2013 $0.The wages, hours, and terms and conditions of employment for full-time teaching faculty, counselors and librarians (all regular College funded positions and certain grant/contract funded positions) are determined by the negotiated Agreement between Pennsylvania College of Technology and the Penn College Education Association. If you are currently receiving an annuity from the State or Public School Employees\u2019 Retirement System, employment at Pennsylvania College of Technology may affect your annuity status. If you are currently a member of either the State or Public School Employees\u2019 Retirement System you may be required to contribute into the System.
