Job Description

KSTU, the Fox affiliate in Salt Lake City, Utah, owned by The E.W. Scripps Company, is searching for a Part-Time, Temporary Anchor to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver news to the community while showcasing your on-air presence and journalistic expertise. You'll co-anchor newscasts, report live from the field, and connect with viewers across multiple platforms. Apply today!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  •  Co-anchor the newscast when scheduled.

  •  Gather and write news content for multiple platforms.

  •  Report live on location from various news events when assigned.

  •  Research and develop news stories.

  •  Perform various community service activities for the station, including performing as master of ceremonies for public service events and as host/hostess for station events.

  • Perform other duties as needed and assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience

  • Generally, 3+ years of experience in related field preferred

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Knowledge and demonstration of editorial judgment, journalistic ethics, and libel laws

  • Computer literacy required, including newsroom computer systems

  • Videography and non-linear editing experience preferred

  • Knowledge of broadcast-quality camera equipment

  • Knowledge of editing systems

  • Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills

  • Proficient at posting content to various websites

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a deadline-driven environment

  • Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to provide proof of insurance with the company-required insurance limits
