About Our Family
We are a busy, active family of six living just outside of St. Louis. Our household is full of energy, connection, and a lot of moving pieces — with four kids, a rescue dog, two cats, and a schedule that changes throughout the year. Both parents work remotely in the home, and while they are nearby during the day, they are focused on their work responsibilities and are looking for someone who can help keep the household running smoothly behind the scenes.
Our kids range from elementary to high school and are independent, capable, and involved in a variety of activities. We have intentionally raised them with a Montessori-inspired approach that focuses on responsibility, confidence, and practical life skills. They help with cooking, laundry, and taking ownership of their spaces, and we are looking for someone who can continue encouraging that independence while also providing support, structure, and guidance when needed. Life in our home includes school, sports, activities, meals, travel, and plenty of everyday moments where flexibility, organization, and a calm presence make a big difference.
We are looking for a House Manager who can become the connective tissue between all of the moving parts of our household. The biggest need we are looking to solve is the mental load of managing schedules, meals, supplies, organization, and day-to-day logistics so parents can have more time and energy to be present with their kids. The ideal person will genuinely enjoy being around children, take initiative, anticipate needs, and bring organization and calm to a busy family environment.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
- Naturally proactive and able to anticipate household needs before they become urgent
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable creating systems and routines
- Skilled at managing many moving pieces while maintaining a clear big-picture view
- Takes ownership and follows through independently
- Comfortable stepping into a household and confidently managing responsibilities
- Warm, grounded, and genuinely enjoys being around school-age children
- Able to balance structure, consistency, and flexibility with kids who have strong personalities
- Comfortable setting boundaries while maintaining a positive and encouraging relationship with children
- Emotionally aware and able to adjust based on the needs and energy of the family
- Enjoys helping children build independence and confidence through everyday responsibilities
- Interested in teaching life skills while also knowing when to simply get things done
- Comfortable collaborating with parents and adjusting systems as household needs evolve
- Confident preparing meals and comfortable taking ownership in the kitchen
- Enjoys an active lifestyle and spending time outdoors with kids
- Comfortable working in a home where family members or guests may occasionally be present
- Respectful, inclusive, and aligned with a welcoming household environment
- Experienced with school-age children, education, family assistance, household management, or similar roles
