Location: This position travels to Land O' Lakes & Tampa.

Position Summary: Assists patients in the Optical Department with their optical need.

Essential Functions.\u2022 Performs preliminary duties Greets patients professionally, cheerfully, and in a timely manner\u2022 Verifies patient\u2019s insurance coverage\u2022 Obtains authorizations Pulls previous files\u2022 Updates patient demographics as needed\u2022 Verifies HIPAA and Privacy signatures are obtained\u2022 Answers phone promptly and professionally\u2022 Makes appointments for lens technician and I&R training\u2022 Takes messages and follows through\u2022 Handles customer needs and requests efficiently\u2022 Promptly and cheerfully assists patients with frame selection\u2022 Demonstrates product knowledge\u2022 Shows ability in prescription analysis, and guides patient to the products and materials most suitable for their prescription\u2022 Accurately prices orders Shows skill in the adjusting and fitting of eye wear.\u2022 Problem solves in resolving patient issues with eye wear.\u2022 Performs Insertion/Removal training for contact lens wearers\u2022 Orders frames, lenses and contact lenses\u2022 Intergy - Accurately posts charges\u2022 Collects monies and posts payments Balances journal and locks it each day\u2022 Creates a journal for the next day\u2022 Secures deposit at the end of the day Logs off Intergy and out of computer before leavingOther Related Functions\u2022 Maintains an organized and clean work area\u2022 Empties HIPAA container into destruction bin\u2022 Restocks frames at end of day\u2022 Dusts frame shelves monthly\u2022 Keeps up with filing on a daily basis\u2022 Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.

Education/Training\u2022 High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Licensure/Certification\u2022 Optician\u2019s License
