Job Description
OVERVIEW
Morning Brew is looking for a Producer to work on our flagship executive interview show, (name to come)/After Earnings. The show is built around high-profile executive interviews, and the ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in social media video editing, long-form editing, caption writing, and production.
You'll partner directly with host Ann Berry to prepare and edit interviews with some of the business world's most influential figures and biggest personalities. Just as important, you'll be the person in the room who's already thinking about how a moment plays on social media before the cameras stop rolling.
This is a social-forward role. You live on the internet and understand how stories move through it. LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube,‘X’ and TikTok are all a priority. You're plugged into the news cycle in real time, and when a guest says something that intersects with a timely business story, you know how to get it out while the conversation is still hot.
Because this is an executive-interview-driven show, you should also be comfortable interfacing directly with exec comms teams and PR apparatuses, and adept at working with a wide range of personalities.
You're considered an ideal candidate if you're a multiskilled media production professional who has some knowledge of the markets, can work in a fast-paced environment and can collaborate across multifunctional teams while maintaining strong content quality.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Supporting the ideation, production, post production, and distribution of the Interview Show/After Earnings content.
- Identifying the best topics and clips to amplify on social media - and hands-on editing social video
- Working with talent on research needs, topic ideas, story/show structure, and delivery.
- Working with and assisting the booking team for all guest prep & execution.
- Coordinating with the broader Morning Brew teams to keep them informed of projects and look for areas of collaboration.
- Working with our social director for a strategy to grow a robust and engaged audience across platforms, especially X and Linkedin.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
- You’re enthusiastic about (and have strong knowledge of) business, markets and the economy.
- You have Control Room experience and know how to support a live/live-to-tape show.
- You’re experienced with Adobe Premiere and Pro Tools (being familiar with Photoshop is a plus!); you know what makes content engaging and punchy.
- You understand the major social platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn).
- You have outstanding communication, collaboration and organizational skills and an impeccable eye for detail and creative opportunities.
- You can work on a deadline, and tasks rarely, if ever, fall through the cracks.
- You have a minimum 2-4 years experience in media and podcast production, with live experience; you know best practices in and out.
