Overview


Under the supervision of the Membership Director, the part-time Membership Services Representative builds relationships with members and provide helpful, friendly and professional customer service. They are responsible for ensuring the membership department conveys the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Southern Maine.


  


Schedule: 



  • Sunday: 8:45am-2pm

  • Monday:11am-8pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)

  • Tuesday: 11am-8pm (w/1/2 hr lunch)

  • *Shifts and hours are subject to change.

Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building \u2013 Develop positive, authentic relationships within the Y that lead to greater awareness of the Y\u2019s mission and impact, growth in number of people served, as well as revenue. Greet all members and guests and provide excellent customer service on the phone and in person by providing complete and accurate information to members.  Learn current and prospective member\u2019s needs and interests through appropriate questioning and listening techniques highlight how the Y can meet these needs and interests. Listens and expresses self effectively and with an understanding of the needs of a particular audience.

  • Personal Growth \u2013 Maintains a high degree of emotional maturity and interpersonal skills and is committed to personal growth and skill acquisition.

  • Operations & Safety \u2013 Demonstrates clear knowledge and understanding of YMCA of Southern Maine membership policies and procedures by accurately conveying and implementing with members. Is knowledgeable on all programs and membership events. Incorporates YMCA mission and core values in daily interactions with members. 

  • Data Tracking & Documentation \u2013Maintains accurate and consistent data tracking and documentation, as required. Registers members into programs including completion of all paperwork, receipt of monies and data input into software system. Manages all monetary transactions accurately including: accepting payments, issuing receipts, providing change and reconciling cash drawer at completion of shift. Processes all membership transactions effectively and accurately.

  • Other duties as required. 


Qualifications



  • Has a high school diploma or GED.

  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively and respectfully.

  • Exercises good judgment and provides excellent customer service.

  • Pays attention to detail. 

  • Can work with frequent distractions and interruptions.

Posted Salary Range

USD $16.50 - USD $17.00 /Hr.
