About Our Family
We are a busy, warm, and active family of four living in a spacious home in Bronxville, NY. Our household runs at a high energy level — there are always school bags coming through the door, sports schedules to track, meals to get on the table, and a big, lovable dog who thinks she owns the place. One parent manages the home full-time, while the other splits time between working from home and frequent trips into the city. Life moves quickly here, and we like it that way, but that also means we genuinely need someone who can help keep the wheels turning behind the scenes.
Our kids are bright, active, and both deeply involved in school and sports. They are largely capable and self-sufficient, and we are intentional about keeping it that way. We want them to tidy their own spaces, and stay on top of their own things. We're not looking for someone to do everything for them, but rather someone who knows when to step in if schedules get busy—and how to gently hold them accountable—while still being a warm, grounding presence in the home.
We've had long-tenured household support for many years, and we deeply value consistency, trust, and a sense of genuine investment in the family. Our weekend caretaker has been with us for over a decade, and that kind of lasting relationship is exactly what we hope to build again. This is a household where you become part of the rhythm, not just a set of tasks. We especially appreciate people who bring positivity, take pride in their work, and have an intuitive sense of when to jump in and when to give the family a little breathing room.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
You’re the right person for this role if you walk into a room, spot what needs to happen next, and take initiative. You don’t wait to be asked—you fold the laundry that’s ready, start dinner when it’s time, break down the boxes by the door, and add pantry items to the running list before anyone notices they’re low. You take quiet pride in a well-run home and genuinely enjoy making the family’s day run a little smoother.
You are organized and detail-oriented without being rigid. You read the room effortlessly, knowing when the family needs your full presence and when they need their space. You are warm and nurturing, especially with kids, but you also know how to hold a boundary and have a light, natural authority that teenagers respect. You do not need to be micromanaged, and in fact, you would find that stifling. You are someone who takes direction well when it is given, follows through without needing reminders, and brings your own initiative to fill the gaps.
You are deeply reliable. You show up when you say you will, you communicate proactively, and you treat this home with the same care and discretion you would want someone to show yours. You are comfortable with a big, lovable dog and genuinely enjoy being around animals.
You are flexible when the family's schedule shifts, adaptable when needs evolve, and steady when things get busy. If you have supported a busy household before and loved it, this role was made for you.
