Job Description

SOFWERX (SWX) was established under a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) and DEFENSEWERX (DWX), the parent organization of SWX.  SWX is a platform designed and operated to increase collaboration and innovation, as well as explore, experiment, and assess promising technology for USSOCOM. Its expanding ecosystem brings together traditional and non-traditional problem solvers to identify, develop, and deliver innovative, disruptive capabilities that provide decisive advantages to the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Warfighter. Our team operates with a shared mindset of collaboration, stepping in to support one another as needed to ensure collective success.




POSITION SUMMARY:


The Facility Security Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for SWX security programs, cleared personnel activities, compliance requirements, security training, and related reporting functions. Working under the direction of the Senior Program Manager II and in coordination with and under the guidance of the DWX Corporate Facility Security Officer (FSO) this position assists with maintaining security documentation, supporting personnel security processes, coordinating training activities, and helping ensure compliance with applicable government and organizational security requirements. This role is well suited for a detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and effectively support security-related operations in a collaborative and mission-focused environment. This part-time position is based in Tampa, Florida and reports directly to the SWX Senior Program Manager II while coordinating directly under the guidance of the organization’s FSO for all security-related matters.




ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Security Administration & Compliance



  • Support the implementation and administration of established SWX facility, personnel, and operational security procedures, while ensuring coordination with Corporate FSO.

  • Assist Corporate FSO with maintaining SWX security-related records, documentation, policies, procedures, and training files in accordance with company and government requirements.

  • Assist with the collection, review, and organization of security compliance data and documentation.

  • Monitor and report security concerns through designated reporting channels in accordance with established organizational procedures.

  • Assist with fact gathering and documentation related to security inquiries, incidents, or investigations as directed.


 


Personnel Security Support



  • Coordinate and track security briefings, debriefings, indoctrinations, and related activities for SWX cleared personnel in support of the Corporate FSO.

  • Maintain SWX personnel security records and assist with administrative requirements associated with security clearances in support of the Corporate FSO.

  • Support the coordination and delivery of required security training programs and maintain associated training records for SWX personnel under the guidance of the Corporate FSO.


 


Government & External Coordination



  • Serve as an administrative liaison with DCSA and other government security-related agencies under the direction of SWX leadership and the Corporate FSO.

  • Assist with the administration of classified agreements, DD254-related documentation, visitor authorizations, and other security-related activities as assigned.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to support security compliance requirements and initiatives.


 


Reporting & Program Support



  • Prepare draft reports, status updates, metrics, and briefing materials related to security compliance and personnel security activities.

  • Support DWX and SWX leadership in coordinating security initiatives and compliance efforts.


 


General Responsibilities



  • Serve as an initial point of contact for routine security-related questions and requests, escalating issues as appropriate.

  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and accuracy.

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


 


QUALIFICATIONS:


Required:



  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted.

  • 1–2 years of experience supporting classified security administration, personnel security, facility security, or related compliance activities.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Ability to maintain confidential and classified information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.




Preferred:



  • Advanced training or certifications related to DCSA Facility Security Officer (FSO) requirements, NISPOM compliance, industrial security, personnel security, and DD254 administration.

  • Familiarity with NISPOM requirements.

  • Working knowledge of DISS, NISS, NBIS, or equivalent government security systems.

  • Experience supporting personnel security clearance processing.

  • Experience working within a cleared contractor or government security environment.

  • Familiarity with ITAR, EAR, or other export-controlled information environments.


 


OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to pass a background check.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain ITAR license.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute within a collaborative team environment.

  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic, mission-focused environment with changing priorities.

  • Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting DWX or its partners.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Positive attitude and great work ethic.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results through collaboration.

  • Ability to lift to 35 pounds.
