About Our Family
We're a dynamic, high-energy Seattle family with three school-age kids who are deeply involved in activities, especially soccer, and our dog, rounding out our crew. Our household is lively, loud, and full of moving parts, and we love it that way — but we've reached a point where amidst juggling our careers and family life we need support to bring some grounded calm to the chaos.
Both parents work demanding schedules: one is in-office most of the week with remote Fridays, and the other is beginning a graduate program in the fall, with in-person evening classes. We already have a professional cleaning team who comes in every other week, so this role is about managing the systems, logistics, and rhythms that keep a busy family running smoothly.
We lead with empathy, kindness, and respect in everything we do, and we hold our household support to the same standard. Highly capable and observant, our kids thrive on authentic, mature engagement. They respond best when treated like the thoughtful individuals they are, completely bypassing baby talk or patronizing tones in favor of genuine warmth.
A core focus of this role is providing dedicated afternoon and evening childcare support, particularly navigating our busy activity schedules, school pickups, and dinner routines with confidence and ease.
We've had incredible help in the past from people who were true go-getters, and we've also experienced what it's like when that's not the case. We're looking for someone who has the experience and brings the quiet confidence and professionalism to prove it.
We are looking to bring someone into our home who understands what it means to be a professional in a private household setting — someone who shows up, understands healthy boundaries, sees what needs to be done, and does it without being asked.
Who You Are / What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is a seasoned household professional who is highly proactive, self-directed, and intuitive. They excel at assessing a home’s needs independently, "reading the room," and establishing efficient daily workflows. This role is best suited for an anticipatory thinker—someone who notices low inventory before anyone else does, plans ahead for the upcoming week, and takes pride in keeping a household running like a well-oiled machine.
The right fit brings a calm yet energetic presence, thriving in a dynamic, high-energy environment with a fast-moving schedule. Possessing high emotional intelligence, this individual knows how to work alongside busy, high-achieving adults as a collaborative, professional partner. They are a supportive presence who seamlessly eases the mental load of a busy family.
This professional maintains an intuitive respect for privacy, discretion, and confidentiality. Because both parents have highly demanding professional backgrounds, the family deeply values clear communication and impeccable professional boundaries. The ideal candidate understands that deep trust is built intentionally, step-by-step, and takes pride in establishing a solid foundation through consistent, reliable follow-through.
Organization, adaptability, and emotional resilience are key; this person is highly structured but not rigid, maintaining their composure and pivot-readiness when unexpected changes arise. Above all, they are warm, empathetic, and kind. Professionally, they are either vegan or fully comfortable cooking vegan meals and eager to learn new plant-based recipes (prior experience with vegan cooking is a plus, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are highly valued).
