About Our Family
We’re a warm, energetic family of 4 with two young children and a small, friendly dog. Our home is loving, lively, and very much in the “little-kid season” of life: there’s always a next snack, a next outfit change, a next activity bag, and a next round of dishes. And while we genuinely enjoy the fullness of this stage, we also care deeply about having a home that feels calm, organized, and welcoming—because when the house flows, the whole family does.
One parent is at home managing the day to day, while another is working in and out of the house—and while there’s a home office on the main floor, the day-to-day rhythm of a household with young children can make “focused work time” a moving target. We are looking for a true partner who can take oversight of the day to day behind the scenes of the household, while anticipating what is going to come next.
We are looking for an extra set of hands to be an extension of the adults, making it possible for everything to run smoothly. Think of it as “duplicate support”: someone who can jump in and keep the house tidy, staying ahead of what’s needed, and helping the family be in two places at once when afternoons get busy. When this role is working well, the home feels steady, the details don’t fall through the cracks, and we can exhale because the execution is handled. We are looking for a long-term fit—someone who we can trust and will grow with our family.
Who You Are / What We’re Looking For
You are looking to become a proactive part of our team. While you value collaboration, you can also work independently to tackle the day. You are deeply organized in a way that feels almost instinctive—someone who remembers where things belong and can keep systems running without constantly reinventing the wheel. You understand that with young kids, the magic is in the routines: backpacks packed, meals prepared, activity bags always ready, common spaces kept under control, and the house brought back to “baseline” again.
You’re also excellent at reading a household and thinking one step ahead. You notice what’s coming before it happens and can naturally step in to keep things moving smoothly. Whether it’s packing school lunches, stocking healthy after-school snacks, planning a week’s worth of family meals, or making sure ingredients are on hand for dinner, you take pride in creating order and reducing stress for the family. You’re comfortable preparing family-friendly meals that can be purposed for children and adults a few times each week, assisting with meal prep, grocery shopping as needed, following dietary preferences and food allergies, and maintaining a clean, organized kitchen. You don’t need to be asked—you’re proactive, resourceful, and genuinely enjoy being the person who makes everything easier.
You genuinely love kids! You’re calm, cool, and collected—especially with toddlers—and you’re unflappable when things change. You’re patient, confident, and comfortable deferring to parents on discipline while still being a steady, capable presence with the kids. You’re the kind of team member who can supervise a playdate, tackle the naptime routine when we are not available, and handle a school pick-up/activity drop-off seamlessly.
You’re a critical thinker who will roll up your sleeves and do what needs doing—nothing is “beneath you,” and if the main list is finished, you’ll find the next helpful thing without needing to be directed. You’re flexible and can roll with the punches if plans change.
Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable. This family has learned firsthand how disruptive inconsistency can be, and they’re looking for someone who shows up on time, communicates clearly, and can be counted on. A kind, warm energy matters, too—you need to be genuinely caring and invested in building a long-term relationship with the family.
If you’re someone who thrives creating calm through systems, takes pride in being dependable, and truly enjoys supporting a loving, busy family in a hands-on and thoughtful way, this is the role for you.
