Job Description

Under the direction of the Parks and Recreation Department, we are seeking to fill part-time positions of Front Desk Attendant to support the safe and efficient operation of the Community Recreation Center, Tennis Center and Aqua Park.  This role provides excellent service to our residents and helps to triage their inquiries in person, and through phone calls when visiting our facilities.  We are seeking a reliable, friendly, and flexible Front Desk Attendant to serve as first point of contact for our residents and visitors.  This position will have a variable schedule with a maximum of 28 hours per week with night and weekend hours being common.  In addition to the responsibilities listed below, the ideal candidate will be able to thrive in a varied environment and open to additional responsibilities that contribute to the success of Parks and Recreations programs.  As part of the application process, please indicate preferred location(s).




This position will perform listed duties below, depending on assigned location:



  • Community Recreation Center (Year-Round):

    • Verifies membership status of all individuals entering the Community Recreation Center.

    • Processes membership applications and program registrations, shelter rentals, room rentals and payments.

    • Performs or coordinates all necessary functions to ensure the community center is operating efficiently and to the maximum service of the community.

    • Answer calls from patrons/residents

    • Assist with program set up or tear down as needed

    • Assist with opening and closing procedures

    • Enforces rules and regulations of the facility

    • Routinely walks through the facility to monitor activity, the safety of users, and to check the status of the facility.

    • Provides good customer service to facility users, greets them, addresses needs, concerns, and questions related to the use of the Community Recreation Center.



  • Aqua Park (Seasonal):

    • Verifies membership status of all individuals entering the Aqua Park.

    • Processes membership applications.

    • Process the purchase of daily passes.

    • Answer calls from patrons/residents

    • Performs or coordinates all necessary functions to ensure the aqua park is operating efficiently and to the maximum service of the community.

    • Performs opening and closing duties as assigned by supervisor

    • Assist with party rental set up or tear down as needed

    • Routinely walks through the facility to monitor activity, the safety of users, and to check the status of the facility.

    • Provides good customer service to facility users, greets them and addresses needs, concerns, and questions related to the use of the Aqua Park.

    • Staff will get wet during work shifts.



  • Tennis Center (Year-Round):

    • Verifies court rentals of all individuals entering the Tennis Center.

    • Processes court rentals, program registrations, and payments.

    • Performs or coordinates all necessary functions to ensure the tennis center is operating efficiently and to the maximum service of the community.

    • Answer calls from patrons/residents

    • Assist with program set up or tear down as needed

    • Assist with opening and closing procedures

    • Enforces rules and regulations of the facility

    • Routinely walks through the facility to monitor activity, the safety of users, and to check the status of the facility.

    • Assist with court maintenance such as watering courts, hand dragging of clay courts, lifting and spreading bags of court conditioner in low areas and sweeping of the hard courts.

    • Provides good customer service to facility users, greets them, addresses needs, concerns, and questions related to the use of the Tennis Center.






Minimum Requirements:



  • Must be at least 18 years or older

  • Previous experience involving interaction with the public or recreation related programs either through volunteering or employment.

  • Must have valid Child Protection Clearances by start date:

    • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (Childline)

    • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal History Clearance (PATCH)

    • FBI Criminal History Clearance (FBI Fingerprinting)



  • Possess CPR/AED credential or the ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire.
