About Our Family

We are a busy two-parent household in Brooklyn with two young children. Both parents work in fast-paced fields and bring that same systems-oriented mindset home. We love for our home to feel calm, organized, and ready, but the reality of life with small kids means the logistics have grown beyond what we can manage on our own.

We already have a wonderful nanny who handles weekday childcare, so this role is not about the kids directly — it's about everything else that keeps a household humming. In other contexts, we've been lucky enough to work with people who are proactive, self-directed, and genuinely invested in what they do, and that's the energy we're hoping to find in this role.

We're an intentional family who genuinely loves creating a warm and well-run home — we just don't have the hours in the day to do it all. Mornings move fast, evenings are anchored by dinner and bedtime routines, so the in-between hours are where we need the most support. If you're someone who notices what needs to be done without being asked and takes pride in the details that make a home feel taken care of, you’re the perfect fit for us!

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is sharp, self-directed, and thrives not because of a daily task list, but because of their sense of efficiency. You understand what a household needs to run — clean clothes, stocked fridge, prepped food, tidy space — and you manage those systems proactively rather than waiting to be asked. You think in both the big picture and the details. When something comes up that you don't know how to handle, you figure out what you need to know and come back with a proposed plan. You bring solutions when problems arise.

You're comfortable being part of a home with young children without being the primary caregiver — you can hold down the fort in a pinch and can easily build rapport with kids, but you're not here to provide direct childcare. You're organized, even-keeled, warm, and logical. You read the room well and know how to prioritize. No task is too big or too small, and you take real pride in your work.

We appreciate professionalism, but want someone who feels comfortable in our home, understands our dynamic, and can work independently while still staying connected to what we need. We hope to build a long-term relationship with our house manager that can grow and evolve with our family over time.
